{Real Weddings} Space Gallery | Denver Museum Weddings

Shannon and Reilly are just so adorable and fun, I knew I I would love working with them on their wedding at the New Space Gallery in Denver. The only problem with the wedding was that the new Space Gallery on Santa Fe wasn't built yet! We spent many days calling to check the status, and driving by to check out how the space would look. Construction was cutting it a little close, but we had the wedding there. Literally we were the first wedding or any event to take place there.  At the rehearsal they we're still installing the stairs that she would be walking down the next day.  Funny how things work out!  I love how all her modern details worked out... read more

{Real Weddings} Highlands Ranch Mansion | Colorado Mansion Wedding

I've been dying to share this lovely wedding with you, Jessica and Kyle's, Sweet Home Colorado themed wedding at Highlands Ranch Mansion.  The couple had roots in the south, but wanted their guests to experience everything they love about Colorado. Jessica shared that she wanted her wedding to be homey, cozy, sparkling, preppy, hospitable, and fun....BUT mostly a "Southern Affair in the Mountains."  Picture how you'd feel sitting outside on a porch swing, it's a warm summer night, sipping firefly lemonade as the sunsets behind big full trees...that's how we wanted this wedding to a little sparkle.  There are tons of fun, cozy feeling details, including homemade jam that her adorable mother made for favors, displayed prominently with delicious biscuits on our 27 ft dessert bar. Just a quick sneak peek of the dessert display with it's own train.  You'll have to read on to see how we filled it with deliciousness! read more

Colorado ICON Award Winner!

Each year we submit our work to the ICON Awards, which are judged by top industry professionals across the United States.  We are thrilled to announce that we won a Judge's Choice Award for Best Wedding.  This is a big deal in our industry, kind of like winning an Academy Award!   It's especially exciting to have won back to back years!  Last year we won for our Carnival Wedding and this year for Megan and Ben's stunning Winter Wonderland Wedding at Devil's Thumb Ranch.  We posted all the beautiful details yesterday, be sure to check them out!

It's a long road from submittal to when they announce the winners, about 6 months, but it culminates with an amazing gala. It's always a blast to attend parties put on by other industry pros, they go all out. This year was no different with it's "50 Shades of Play" theme, a play on the 50 Shades of Gray books. A bit dangerous when the invitation encourages "inappropriate attire"?  read more

{Real Weddings} Devil's Thumb Ranch | Colorado Mountain Weddings

The couple chose Devil's Thumb Ranch, High Lonesome Barn for their wedding which hadn't even been built at the time I suggested it to them. We went up for several site visits and hard hat tours during construction. When we design a wedding we have a clear picture of what the whole day will look like, in this case we had to paint the picture of the venue too!

Megan and Ben wanted a fabulous winter, woodland wedding that was romantic, vintage, rustic, fun and intimate.  Well we made a few phone calls the day prior and called in a huge winter storm to make sure the winter part happened.  The Colorado weather can be tricky, but throw in a blizzard with a ton of snow, and actually getting the vendors and guests to the venue can be a challenge!  Luckily everyone made it safely and we had beautiful white snow to go with their all white and silver, woodland, winter wedding!  read more

Wedding Design Ideas | Romantic, Vintage Weddings

We are continuing our series, showing you our great Fantasy Tables from the Bridal Festivals show this spring...of course we saved the best for last!   The other day we showed you our Marsala wedding design (Pantone color of the year), but Pantone also releases colors for each season and we are LOVING their Spring 2015, "En Plein Air" color palette. Pantone describes En Plein Air (French for "In the Open Air") as "cooler and softer color choices, with subtle warm tones, follow a minimalistic en plein air theme, taking a cue from nature".  We think that's their way of saying "it's gorgeous just go with it!", see what you think? read more

Wedding Design Ideas | Marsala Color of the Year

Each year Pantone puts out the color of the year. Well this year the color is Marsala, and there couldn't be more confusion over what this shade of color actually is?  Many think of it as a dark red or brick, others go with more of a mauve, and yet more people say berry?  It's a tricky color for sure, but rich and lovely! read more

Wedding Design Ideas | Bright Wedding Colors

The other day we showed you Dave and Karlie's Charcoal and Raspberry, Rustchic wedding.  I mentioned how I love bright color palettes.  Each year we do the fantasy table display for the Bridal Festivals bridal show and this year I wanted to go bright for one of them.  I decided on a modern long table, with chevron pattern, and fuchsia and lemon yellow colors...we called it Watermelon and Lemonade! read more
